If I remember correctly, the PK floor its higher where the carb goes because of the position of the original pipe. I struggled to fit a 28mm in there as it was touching the bottom. Best solution would be to cut a hole and weld a box under the carb? I think zapper had the same problem with his ets (might want to find zapper thread and have a look).

Hi Max, just had a search but couldn't find "zapper" or anything relating to "ETS", "carb space". How old is the thread?

thats a bit wankymcwankpiece really, id be right fucked off if i had to cut out the floor to fit the carb in, not cos of the hole but just cos it has to be done. while yr at it, you will need some holes in the side of the frame so you can get a screwdriver in to adjust the air/mixture and tickover screw, a 20mm hole will suffice for both

Good evening smallframers!! I have been dragging my heels - A few pics for you to look at and keep the thread alive. Ac couple of pics of the engine I removed from the frame - I rebuilt this late last year, its a great engine and will be kept and then given some time and money for the next project.

So once engine was out next job was to get new engine in...................
Not many issues........just awkward on your own. I noticed that the inlet manifold was touching the frame so had to open and elongate the hole, this was easy with a pneumatic die grinder.

After enlarging the hole to accommodate the inlet manifold I thought I would see how the 34mm VHSB fits in..................as already mentioned in the thread I struggled, there was no way that the carb would fit without modification, I had to cut the bottom out of the carb box to allow the carb to be mounted. This is the hole I ended up with. Carb in position......

SO far engine is mounted and carb in place...................next job is exhaust. Unlike the carb I was fully expecting some modification to the frame to enable me to fit the "big bertha"......First adjustment (notice the black pen line, this will be take out to allow enough movement if I go 2 up) 2nd modification, minor but have allowed enough room for movement..... Finished article.......

Side panel from automatic - I will be using this, I like the modern look of the vents and you never know it might aid the cooling?

Some pics of the frame.......I haven't got any pics of this on the forum yet. She is a rock solid frame - she was refurbed around 10 years ago. Im not sure what colour she is, dont think this is a piaggio colour but i will be keeping it as i think it suits the lines of the PK.
