The cylinder is getting a bigger bore and than a new nycasilwall. 49-49.5ish. We will use the 51mm quatrini stroke crankshaft. Cylinderkit is being made to fit. Cylinder head will be modified. Its a big project but engine is at tge tuningshop now and back in april. When he sends me workinprogrespictures; i will upload them here to!
My front fork is piaggio zip sp. You cut off the top part of the steeringping and u weld in de conversion pin. This way u can use the pk steeringhouse and bearings. Only a anglegrinder and some welding needed. My rim size is 2.50. Tyres are pmt medium 90/90 i believe Normally u just fit a 3.00x 10 tyre. But pmt uses diffrent sizingtabele. A3aan
Bought a VHM cylinderhead from marktplaats (dutch ebay), and received it. Sandblasted my rear rim, crankcase coverplate and the plate that hols the rearbrake parts. Partly blasted the front rim, but that's coated so it was very hard to remove and took ages, I will have a mate do it. All those parts will be silver grey, same as my rear rim.
-Anyone knows if the alluminum parts can be coated to? or better to just paint? -Any good options for the front brake? -(Polini makes 1 that I can get for 180 euro, Sip has 1 for 110 euro or just an original but I can't find a real one, it's all China's.) -Any pictures/pointers on the rear brakepedal? Use one from a derbi gpr or something?
Parts are back from powdercoating! Frame has been stripped off like 3-4 layers off old paint and stickers and is ready for welding. friday i have an appointment with a men who knows all about vespa racing: Christiaan from plc corse! Really excited to meet him, he has some parts for me and will tell me evrything i need to do to my frame to make it a trackbeast! If you do it, you better do it right, right? New update after friday!
Reinstalled the freshly coated gearbox coverplate. hope i did evrything right. Reinstalled the rearbrake lever and pads, ready for the seal and the engine casing. Dropped my rhim off at the shop to get the valve and tyre mounted. It's slowly progressing. Bigger updates after friday!
I took the coverplate apart, and didn't come across an 0 ring. so wich o ring do u mean?
Oh really? I thought there must be one in there, to stop oil seeping down the shaft. I'm actually trying to take mine apart for my project - but currently I cant shift the pin that holds the arm in place.
So the ring should be in the shaft it self? Good new! Christiaan has been at my place! Talked alot and i am ready for the construction off the racer! he brought me the following: Plc clip ons, Welding plates for the engine dxc style rearbrake He will sent me the t5 steering unit and brake caliper.
Package finally came in! waited 3 months for the reworkes crankshaft and the new (shorter 3th and 4th gear) countershaft. Send is out today to the tuning company! Frame isn't welded yet, so going to pick that up today and send it somewere else! I wanted to have this ready this summer, but that's not going to happen... But progress! so let's keep going!
