Bugger, forgot new full circle crank I got has larger taper so can't use this flywheel but good news is can use a HP4 I had on p200. Its a little light for my taste but should rev like the clappers. HP4 fitted after spraying satin black with smoothrite.

Engine finished but something wrong with clutch... think I need to get a pkxl2 clutch pressure plate - the one with the bearing. At the moment clutch wont budge and I know its rebuilt fine as I did it in the engine.

Thanks for your help Rob, just read the thread and problem is engine isn't in the scoot yet so can't be cable - usually you get a bit of movement with hand on clutch arm, I even tried mole grips to get a bit of leverage but clutch arm seems solid. Wanted to sort before I put engine in the frame.

Sorted clutch (thanks me, no not me but me) and took some pics as this is an easy mistake to make, so should help someone out. Clutch cover off This is how the plunger should be put in to work properly It should stick out a bit when pushed all the way in This is the wrong way to put in

can someone explain this to me - I'm confused...
Just checked and all the clutch covers I have are set up with the plunger flush (not sticking out)
When the cover is in place the arm can be moved by hand to take up the slack. I imagine turning the plunger round and having it sticking out would mean you can't take up the slack (the symptoms originally described)
I've never had a problem with the clutch with the plunger being flush.
Scooterhelp.com shows it with the plunger going in flush way as well (I'll be using that as my defence) ;D

Seems odd I know as I always put vespa plungers in flush whether large or smallframes. It definitely won't move the other way round the arm is solid. The only thing I can think of is that its a PKXL2 clutch (supposed to be better for tuned motors) and Sipp shows a pressure plate for these that is different than standard with a ball bearing in it. Maybe it should have one of these but is working now so will try it when frame comes back from painters.
