Picked up the frame from the welders today, I had to cut away most of the floor section as it was rotten and replaced with new repair section. Not too difficult just need a grinder and a Sunday afternoon. The scoot was stored in the back of a barn since 1981 and even though in your mind its in perfect condition when you left it, when you go and fish it out its been sat in water and covered in hay for many years. And is dented and looking very sad. I think a tractor must have reversed into the front legs shields. Spent the afternoon grinding off the welds and braising and banging out the dents in the leg shields and its looking much more like a scoot now.

Cheers Tony, Ordered a mollosi 135 kit and direct intake manifold and 25mm dellorto carb so looking forward to getting some more ooomph out of the engine - kept the original 90 cylinder and piston as these 90 racers are getting rare. Also gonna get a PM evo 40 pipe. I got some PK Xl forks as the front brake was always crap on the originals shuddered and handled bad when you hit the front brake. Also got a PK100 12volt stator and flywheel, going to machine down the flywheel as its electric start (has the cogs on the outside) and maybe lighten a little.
Really like the look of the 125 primy in this months scootering all blue with powder coated black forks and hubs.
But.. the theme im going with is wacky races as its a 90 racer (wacky racer) so looking for the original dick dastardly logo. I'm also going with an 80's purple paint job with flake in the lacquer.
Anyway watch this space will upload more picks as they happen.

nice one mister, just check on here on feedback of that pipe. I think its designed for 7000rpm which is really for a standard lump. I think the 135 malossi kit would work better with a higher vol pipe and one that maybe will allow more revs.

Ok will do but the pm pipe looks cool and is not massively expensive £150. What would you recommend?

well you got me now.. have a look at the hammerzombie- might be er twice the price of that tho.. ask the lads on here. I dint have a great deal of knowledge on the road stuff.. i know the d+f simonini is a revvier pipe as i had one.

Hamerzombie is a wicked pipe saw one at the IOW but still like the PM and here in the Channel island we get the VAT deducted so looks like he PM might be the sensible mans choice.

Also we have a top speed of 35mph lol - no really we do, so unless racing it probably makes not a massive amount of difference. Hey have a look at www.jezspeed.com we also race lambretta's - going for the record this coming weekend got the methanoyl ready.

HI mate, good work so far, keep it up. Wish I had a project to play with If your dead set on the PM pipe, I really can't fault it matched to the polini kit, not as high revving as the mallossi and so better suited to the PM40. And if you like that blue one in scootering, you will be able to achieve similar speeds to that of his (70 on a good day, head down on a flat road you will get a bit more ) ;D

dito shane; the pm is not a mental race pipe, but it is a very nice feeling pipe for road use, very useable power in a not mental rev range.

Thanks Guys will keep you posted, Hey got a question - I have a complete PK50 engine and am thinking instead of tuning the 90 racer engine what about using the PK50 cases putting a 125 primi crank and the 136 molossi on that - is it possible as only worked on Lambretta engines and p2's, never stripped a smallframe engine.

yep - the cases are (pretty much) all the same

Thanks breezer, I will keep the 90 racer engine standard and use the PK50 to tune. Is there any other issues I might have?

depends on how complete the PK engine is. Nothing that'd put me off doing it though.

Only thing on the PK is gearing, matching inlets etc and possibley cranks / bearings if it's a later model.
