Sorted clutch (thanks me, no not me but me) and took some pics as this is an easy mistake to make, so should help someone out. Clutch cover off This is how the plunger should be put in to work properly It should stick out a bit when pushed all the way in This is the wrong way to put in Sorry mate, thats completely wrong. You have the plunger 180 degrees out. It should sit 'flush', well just slighly proud by 1mm approx. The cutaway on the bronze plunger base is to allow the plunger to go back home and sit flush.

Thats what I thought but when I turn it the other way round so it sits flush I cant move the clutch arm - strangely this way round I can move it and it feels right. Won't know for sure until I fire it up but its rock solid when fitted flush...

From the pic it looks like the right one. However there are two types with the double'prong'. One type has a 'back wall' to it. I think if your lever is locking you may have this type. In that case you will need the type with a chamfer on one edge and no 'backwall'. I think this is what you need going by your description of what is happening. www.sip-scootershop.com/Products/87710000/Push+rod+V50RSSpecialV90.aspx

Cheers shrew you were right - fitted the new plunger today and works fine fitted flush, so for the PKXL2 clutch you need this type of plunger to work.

I've used nitromors to strip my primmy frame and one of these: Any sharp blade should do really. Try using more nitromors and maybe a stanley blade. Its a long job I know but it will be worthed at the end. ;D

Hi,
I also did the bare metal job with Nitromors. I modified some plate with angle grinder so youu can get to round shapes better.
For hard to get places I found the pressure washer handy.

Laquer it NOW! Yea I'm tempted as its a load of work to get to this stage... all the smaller bits are being blasted so I will see what headset etc come out like. I did like that rusty nail scoot a few scootering issues ago but know he spent loads of time painting it to look like it was rusty. I live by the sea so could just leave outside for a week - should do the trick... lol
