Cheers Johnny, just wondered but thought as you say, will be trying the half mile I think with 29/68 and 350 x 10 tyre would standard tree not be strong enough? Id get better top speed with that wouldnt I? You'd get a higher top speed with a standard ratio no doubt but with the gap between 3rd and 4th on the standard box you may struggle to get into the power to get you there. There's only one way to find out though bud. Trial and Error.

Yep trial n error :-) would standard tree be strong enough though? I doubt it mate, I wouldn't use a Standard Tree in a High spec.engine. They simpy weren't designed to handle the power were they

I can contact SIP and ask them if they will swap for the F1 version. I dont know what they'll say but I'll try my hardest mate, leave it with me.

course they should its no good having a "racing" part thats limited to 15hp, what fucking use is that, it should have been stated that it was only good for that, and it didnt, if the description was accurate you wouldnt have got it in the first place, fit for purpose and all that, i posted mine back to denis on the 20th and its only just got to milan, hes gonna replace mine but with the 25hp one tho i could do with the f1 version

You are correct Johnny but they'll wriggle out of it I reckon, I'm going to contact DRT, did you just go on their website? Why is he only giving you a reinforced one?

Been onto DRT and told them about SIP not advertising anything about different BHP ratings on their runner trees and they said its very important that you order the correct one when ordering stating engine tune/BHP! Thats interesting seeing as Ive just read 3 different tree descriptions on the sip site and not one of em says anything about there being 3 to choose from, I'll see what DRT get back to me with tommorrow but I've told them I want to order direct from them, they may swap it who knows but this is out of order, goodbye a hundred or so quid cheers sip!

all sip descriptions are full of shit just like the italian postal service, my tree has been in milan being processed for delivery since thursday, so if you do send it back for a swap i would use ups/dhl etc. ive seen the 2 trees side by side and they are like chalk and cheese, and apparently the f1 tree needs shimming no matter what and comes with various shims for the tree and kickstart, i suppose to get it perfectly lined up with the loose gears, but how you are supposed to see that its good is beyond me, maybe need to invest in an endoscope

Can anyone give me some details of contact emails/numbers etc they've been contacting to sort this out. Got a runner myself but a little confused if I've got a soft one or not. The markings on mine are... C14 115 20R-RF RACING BR 313 Am I right in thinking the RF stamp means reinforced? I'd like to send these numbers to whoever it concerns to confirm whether I'm going to fall off my scoot or not!

Hmmm you've got both RF and BR on yours Jude, I just went on DRT website and used the email on the contact address, he sent back some pictures and that seems to be correct what J has said re shimming the tree as Max had a look at it for me

The DRT bag it came in had a 'steel reinforced' sticker across it as well, hoping I'm alright but I'll have a look at the contact on the website. Cheers.

Contacted DRT. Mine is reinforced, built in March 2014, which I assume is denoted by the C14 markings, a/b/c for jan/feb/march etc. puts my mind at ease a little.

OK cool Jude, but, did you ask for a reinforced one or was it just sent to you as a runner tree by sip?

I ordered it through Mark on here, just wanted a runner and wasn't really aware of there being different spec ones, although I did notice when checking part numbers that there is 2 versions available to buy, mine being the cheaper of the two. There wasn't, as far as I can remember, any specific BHP ranges quoted for any of them. Did someone not mention that the weakest one of them wasn't available anymore through SIP? I'm sure it was mentioned in JSS's gearbox thread.

Oh I don't know lol, it all gets a bit confusing, anyway a bit of an update regarding the tree,DRT are emailing regularly and have asked which tree I'd like ratio wise,10 14 17 19, 10 14 16 18, 10 14 17 20 or other? I replied whichever helps me go over 100mph, I haven't got a clue lol He asked me what revs the motor makes and I can only tell him approx 11000 so I'll see what he comes back with. Other news is I have a new sponsor - Mark Robinson aka RS Italia :-) cheers Mark

are all those ratios compatible with standard loose gears ? my tree still hasnt got back to drt, and just to make matters worse royal mail say that its a maximum of £50 compensation so thats me out of pocket for the original tree the 2nd gear ive sent, and now to buy a new tree, happy days
