Primmy headset will fit the forks with no problems. Talking of which is there a difference between a primmy set of forks and the V90 ones as I'd like to fit a Primmy front hub? Cant afford any of the fancy disk brakes I have been reading about on here. But I do have the hub and a spare set of forks

The forks are the same, I think the backplate might be different.

you'd also have to fork out for some pk forks if you wanted to go disc brake

You know I know nothing about Vespas! Thought I would remember more but I dont. A while back I went down to my local scooter shop and was surprised to find a pretty young Swedish girl on a small frame Vespa just leaving the shop. I went into the shop and bought what I wanted and by the by found out that said girl was a student and had just purcahsed the Vespa as a "cheap runaround". Anyways after I had bought what I went in for I headed off home and not far down the road saw the girl standing by the Vespa obviously broken down, so I pull up like the knight of the road I am to help a fellow scooterist The scoot has just stopped she says so i think ok I'll check for a spark but after a quick look under the side door I realise I dont even have a foggyest how to remove the strange looking plug cap. I try to look at a few other things, petrol etc but everything is really odd and unlambretta like - I dont want to break it any more than it is already so I try to bump start it a few times. This fails so breathlessly I decide to beat a retreat and advise her she is probably best going back to the scootershop. Later on I find out she poured a full bottle of two stroke in it when refueling. Anyways can someone tell me where the kickstart lever attaches!? I had a quick look yesterday under the scooter and couldn't see the expected spliney bit sticking out of the engine case ala a Lambretta!

The kickstart leveler attaches under the engine, towards the back wheel. So it is opposite of what I imagine you expect... ;D It's not easy to spot just by bending over, try a mirror!

For some reason there is one of those dentist mirror things at work that no one has a use for other than to make bad jokes with so I think I may "borrow" it ;D Should the kickstart lever have groves in the hole bit? The one I have does not have anything but a couple of small groves so I assumed it was damaged but looking at the photos on the SIP site and taking in to consideration my lack of knowledge I'm not so sure anymore.

A few years ago I did the knight in shining armour bit.. I was on my way to kegra to fit race motor to my bike..it was mersea weekend and ahead of me a few girls had broken down on t5's.. well one had anyway. I pull over in my lil car.. Girl looks up and I walk over. "Broke down i see" .."yes" and she sort of looks at me as if to say 'who the hell are you, what do you know little man?' I started the bike and its got a blocked pilot system. So i walk over to the car.. pull out a vespa engine and a tool kit. They all look at me in amazement "who on earth drives round with a vespa engine in the boot?" They ask.. "well its always good to have a spare " I said! So I fix the t5 and on they go still looking shocked. I teventually ell em that I worked at Kegra and raced for them Next day they thanked Graham at the rally for my help and were shocked that of all the people to stop it happened to be a kegra mechanic complete with tools and spare engine! ;D

Not a bad story mate..... but usually when you start out with something like "pretty young Swedish girl" one expects a better ending!

What something like "it didn't take me too long to get the Vespa started and with a few of the tweaks I had done I managed to extract an extra 10 mph out of it. The young lady owner was so impressed by my mechnical skills with her Vespa she invited me back to her digs to show just how grateful she was....." Sounds like a cross between Milnes and Boon and one of those stories you used to get in mens magazines.

Been waiting for pay day to roll around so I can buy a kickstart and see if it will run In the meantime thought I would check the carb out. Carb is 19/19 The jets are 45/60/74 Float 6122.1 gr3.5 slide 6493.1 Is this right for a Primevera? I have a couple of other questions as well. The petrol tank looks clean enough but I wanted to clean the fuel filter but I cant see how to remove the tap from the tank. Does it screw out? The other thing that puzzeled me is that there is a small hole in the top of the air filter. Cant understand why that is there as the air being drawn in via this hole does not go through the wire mess fiter. Hope this makes sense? I can upload a picture if not.

I've got a 19/19 on my prim which is standard.
As for the petrol tap, it does unscrew but like everything else its a bloody nightmare.
You can buy a special tool which goes inside the tank which holds the nut so you can unscrew the tap.
Cost about a tenner from Allstyles.
