Well its panic time. Been on the bike every second I can to get it ready. Been put back a bit to get Gareths motor done but thats finito now and so onto the hornet. Egt gauge has been moved so I can actually see it now as per pic rev counter in And then of course I've stripped and rebuilt the motor. Lower gear set for this year and Mr Edmonds has been playing with the output of the motor . Proto clutch plates are under test and if they work I'll get him to manufacture them to sell on to the smallie crowd. New 'pistone' but otherwise the motor is sound. Doesnt even require a selector. Its back in the bike now and I'll change the cables this week with the intent to fire it up on friday.

thats the grp3/4 pipe now sold with the engine to bikegrim. its fitted to my bike to set ignition timing. Tho i failed at this as my strobe cant keep up with the twin spark at 10k. Its sort of set. It really needs a very expensive strobe on this unless someone knows of a cheap one that will reach 20k?

The grids for the first meeting of the year are formulated on were you finished in last seasons overall standings, this means the top eight (if they have entered) would be on the first 2 rows making for a very interesting opening couple of laps. I finished 12 overall last season but due to removing the zips for there own race and a couple of lads not entering it means i will start from 7. simples.... Yes i plan to race the SS for all of this season and if the opertunity arises i will take the zip out for a blast as well. So at lest 2 smallframes taking on the mighty Lambrettas at round 1. See you on the monday Col.

cheers for the replies john & tony.... really looking forward to spectating a couple of meetings this season.... i dont think some of us realise just how quick some riders are..!! a mate gave racing a whirl in group4 in the early 90`s.. on the road he was faster than any of us, and smooth with it... but when he got on the track with an orange bib on he was like a boy among men.... why do you all have 600 and some numbered race plates..... i know you share meetings with the vintage bike lads but wouldnt it look better with say the top 9 or 10 riders with single digit race plates... or am i talking shite..... best of luck to all of you that compete this season... just wish i had the scoot, the funds, the knowhow and most of all the knackers to give it a go... me and my 2 road going scoots covered about 6000 miles in 2009 in all weathers and among crazy traffic.. (europe especially).. but i havent the spuds to go round a track of about 2 miles long when everyones going the same way im deffo not making light of what you racers do, its just a mad image

2 reason why we have to have a 6 in front of our own race numbers. 1 we do practice and sometimes share races with the vintage bikes and they cannot have 2 machines on the track with the same number on at the same times, just incase of a crash and they have to ask over the tannoy for the partner of say no 19 to go to the medical center, they don;t want 2 lots of distressed people turn up. 2 at first they told us it was so the public could tell which ones are scooters, when they look in the program I don't get to go to as many scooter rallies as i used to because of the racing(not complaining just sayin) but i used to be a bit mental as you know when i was on my way there ;D Defo doing KELSO an IOW this year as no date clash with racing
