happy happy times for smallframe owners with cash to spend.. ;D always nice to see new products on the market.... i like to read peoples takes on new stuff and how it may fair...!!! have any of you reading this owned and never seized a polini kit. ;D ;D ;D is it me or does the ally polini kit look a little thin on fins on the the lower 3rd of the barrel.... ? getting back to the Lammy RB kit, if A.F RAYSPEED`S Ray Kemp hadnt been wearing his beloved Arsenal football shirt at the Milan scooter and motorcycle show, the lammy brigade may well still be worshiping the TS1 kit..... but then thats a different story for another day..... Eh? I thought the RB kit was made in Spain, the TS1 kit was made by the same Italian firm which also produced the T5 barrel ( can't think of the name of either company at the mo) Rb is an Airsal barrel I think. Ts1 and T5 Gilardoni.

type far quicker and better than me Tony..... yes right and right again mate... RB kit made in spain (airsal),,, TS1 and T5 barrels made by gilardoni in italy...... scooterslag, as you ask mate here goes, Ray Kemp wanted to update the TS1 kit, so he approached Terry Shepard (ie original designer) he either wasnt interested or couldnt improve on what they already had.... also gilardoni hadnt been too helpful because they were to busy making stuff for Ducati and Ferrari to do fairly limited runs of standard issue TS1 kits....... So Ray put the feelers out for a new supplier come designer, having had no real luck he headed to the milan bike show, the very last stand he came across on the last day of the show happend to be spains airsal company. the guys on the stand were Barcelona and real madrid footy fans, they mocked Rays arsenal shirt, but then recognized him, it turns out one of the airsal guys was a big wig at servetta back in the 70`s.... a short chat later they promised to get thier R&D people on the case.......... within 10 days drawings arrived at Rays shop, and also drawings of a 70cc auto scooter kit claiming 25 bhp.. ray was so impressed he said get straight on and make it.......!!!! the rest as they say is histoty.... im sure many of you reading this will know how the above mentioned kit is flawed or not, but on a final note, when Ray was quoted a price on the first batch of RB kits the price came in bang on... however the echange rate change in 18 months ment it swung against the pound to the tune of about 17.000 euros not in Rays favour.......(Ouch ) hope some of the above amuses any of you like it did me, hearing it direct from a rather pissed off Ray....

have any of you reading this owned and never seized a polini kit. ;D ;D ;D Only Polini's I had problems with, and I'm far from being alone on this, was the single ring 207 after they swapped from the original piston (Meteor if memory serves) to a lighter one. Skirts dropped off them like clockwork. Never run one myself but I've a few mates battering the fuck out of the twin ringed one now with no issues. Thing about Polini's for me has always been a careful run in using Dino oil. I've also heard stories of oval bores but I've never checked myself. Alloy / Nicasil should be good to go, intrested in more reports on these, fingers crossed for a result performance and pricewise.

i have no doubt i pushed my RALLY 200 (Polini 207) further than i rode it..... journeys started well, but usually ended with a kickstart lever that felt about as rigid as a puppy dogs tail..... rebuilt more seized polini 152 T5`s for mates, than i can remember...

Ah I see, not really a footy fan chap so thats why it went right over my head. ;D Yeah the RB has the odd 'issue' I wouldn't go down that road personally for my lammy. If I was in the market for a big bore lam kit then I'd opt for the Monza which is as close copy of the TS1. Rather stick to something tried and tested. Paul

I've heard some tales from Ray (and his mrs) over the years.
The one about Mrs Kemp warming a bottle of milk for baby Ben at the side of the road in Milan while Ray was inside negotiating a deal.
Somehow word got to the fellas at innocenti who insisted they came in, made a fuss of Ben (like only the Italians can) and the negotiations took a turn in favour of Ray.
Or Ray getting stopped riding a customers vespa in york with no helmet on and then proceeding to row with the copper about it.
Classic!
