Removing c*nt mode for a minute I'd expecting at least free machining. I presume you supplied them with Lauro's spec Nik?
If so then they've fucked up big time and owe you.
Whether addidtional costs come into this is your call, TBH I'd take the hit if they get it right this time.
BTW, I still think a 30mm carb on a Falc lends itself to limpwristedness. ;D

As to the machining im pretty sure he had the diagrams / spec to go by .... I just want to get it back together ;D Yep juan the 30mm may be a gaylord choice but it makes it more useable around ( Shite excuse nik ).... i will be /am going to change it ... Oh by the way ......I put a ram air filter on it before it broke and it deffinitley made a difference power and rideability wise ....alot smoother and didnt have as much trouble picking pushchairs and shopping trolleys out of the carb mouth ....

Nik - I think Adam means he offers a warranty on his day job work (self employed sparky) but that the occupation shouldn't matter.
If (that's an IF) Reedspeed have fucked up they should rectify things...

oh >........Thanks jim Right ..... Had a good chat with mr reed..and basically the macining wasnt really to fault BUT would may of helped a little to have had a little bit of meat on there ... What He/we've come up with is to add extra gussetting to around where the studs (underneath of course) .and not machine as much material out of the crankcase mouth ... As for info from Cafforio ....all machining was done to the drawing spec ...... Oh and the maching was done out of shop ..... Anyway .....alls good (well im happy ) and jerome was more than helpfull as allways ..... I am going to have to pay for the machining (how much i dont know ) ......so .....

It wasnt to spec Nik. Spec is 16mm depth max +/- 0.1 I believe.

Worb,
Ouch. Sorry to read about this. I'm utterly concerned about my own FALC build, because I'll be taking my engine to a builder who has never seen these bits before.
I'm strongly considering dropping the money to buy machined/ported cases from Lauro directly.
Any thoughts? How many ways are there to go wrong with machining the cases for the bearings/crank/barrel?
I intend to buy all the rest of my stuff from Lauro in the next week or so, and unless I hear from someone that you just have a crappy engine builder who leaves coins in engines, and machined it dead wrong, I may just stick with cases from Lauro. Then the engine is just straight assembly.
