I believe Lauro can supply new casings, milled and ported. I also believe them to be ets or pk casings . Interesting - presumably there is some form of warranty on those then? Wonder if they are of PL170 origin. And how much they cost???

Is it just the inlet thats differs on ETS compared to other pk cases ? ? or are they stronger ? Ive source pk125 type ...

No differance as far as I know Nik, the same as XL 100 / 125 etc bar numbers IIRC.

No need of conversion bearing with the ETS casings as falc uses 24/25 cranks?

Falc cranks are 22 / 25 mm aren't they?

I dont usually post on here anymore. But nik, that guy shrew has a very valid point that you are missing. Its vibration that breaks motors. Yeah sure in terms of material thickness the case may be weaker if you shoved it in a vice but we are not doing that. Can you post pictures? I'd also get the crank checked for alignment and also can you post a pic of the piston crown. I've cracked a motor around the neck.. it was due to big cutaway on the crank causing massive vibration on a race motor. Did you check crank alignment after you did ya coin trick? Are you happy the case was machined right? I have no strengthening on my motor btw.

I have no strengthening on my motor btw. Interesting... Who did your cases, Tony? Was it Charlie Edmonds?

No, I had an engineer do them for me. I closely checked spec tho as he went along.

Thanks for your advice Tony ... Theres no vibrition (as such) taht would cause this .... and the piston has not been hitting the the head .... As you said in your text Tony about the the crank mouth being machined all the down to accomodate the spigot ..it didnt/doesnt need to be ... jerome and myself have talked and are certain to sort it out ... Thanks again Tony .. Still cant get the pics onto photo bucket ...Fukin Doh

Thanks for bringing that one up johnny s s ...... ;D Yeah it did......but it was still running JUST .... That happened at a slower rate though ..... I managed to ride accross ITALY with it semi repaired and even won £20 quid from sticky but after that Bourton-on -the-water attempted record attempt it gave up big time., managed to get back to sooshs though.. cracked the flywheelside case from top down to kickstart ...and main case down from reed down to the main bearing...oh and cracked me brand new 210 piston...... Another casing sorted that out and still sound and a flyer ...26.4hp ..... But by no way on par with the Falc though ....

Worb did you get any pics sorted? I'm still thinking its a fault in the engineering or weld rather than the kit. How much weld went on the cases? Did you just build it up around the transfer? Has the crack appeared below the weld?

Anyways up to see the master on tuesday and let him breathe and fettle with it ....
