Productive morning fitting those bloody floor rubbers. Had to drill and screw most of them but at least it's done. Then I fitted the centre stand. Despite using the original brackets, the holes in them had to be modified so the bolts would run straight. Then I did the badge. It's usually fitted with seven tiny rivets but I didn't want to drill the legshield so I just put the rivets in, cut them shorter and peened them over so it appears to be rivetted. I'll fit it to the body using hot glue so it can be removed if necessary without damage. Here it is so far. Front fork and mudguard fitting next time. I've done a test fit and seems good. Just need to find the bolts for it.

Amazing to see the work that people do on this site saving old wrecks and making them better than new , truly impressive.
Brings a tear to the eye ! I unfortunately seem to have the opposite effect despite my efforts , I have to go to the experts to bail me out normally after I start anything . Never mind we cant all be gifted I suppose .

Not gifted. You learn from mistakes. You don't repeat the mistake. When it all goes to shit, you ask henri for advice. Or Max.

Clutch was a bit of a problem but I changed the whole thing in the end because it was jammed to fvck and I couldn't be bothered to arse around any more. Cables all fitted and adjusted- all much easier without the wheel fitted- a tip I'll use in future. Loom is proving a problem. It's a VMC variable stator and a BGM 12v conversion loom. The loom doesn't come with a diagram just some stupid photos. I have 2 blue wires left over- 1 is for the speedo light which is not going to be used and the other is supposed to be connected to AC. I've drawn a diagram of how it's all connected. Either the blue goes in the connector box connected to nothing, or it connects to the red in the connector box, or a third way. Anyone have any ideas please? I have no idea what the other end of the blue goes to. In the BGM photos it shows it twinned with the yellow in the headlight but my headlight yellow is single.

Finally finished. Had a few problems with 2 wires from the new loom and not knowing where they went but with a tester and some advice from the forum I solved the problem. Engine runs fine and all the lights work. Need to change the horn as it was the original and doesn't work although it does dim the lights when you press the button so the wiring is good. Also need to fit the fuel tap lever. 2 minute job. I've applied for registration so when that comes I can bung on a plate and test ride it. Only problem now is.... what next?
