Great pictures and lovely parts. I am watching you flywheel development as i might be looking into a lighter flywheel. Will see once on the road and trying to pull the extra weight.

so it`l do more than 25 mph when finished? i like the look of the bits you`ve got. the kheper cdi`s are nice. a cut and past from an old post....and links to all the files that dont come with the cdi works well. finding the drivers etc took a while as he dosnt offer any info with the kit, a CD with the drivers would only cost a few pence to bundle with the kit as the software is free once you find it. they seem very solid although obviously home made. it does what it says on the label once you get the software. you need the files from this page their home page is www.kheper-scooter.comand you may need some of the files from here to let your computer see the kheper cdi Drivers here www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htmafter you send the map to the cdi wait a few seconds for an ok message.

as its lectric start n has a battery have you thought of a solid state electronic fuel pump , as the vacumns can be slow to re-fill ya carb if you do run out ,my experience on bikes is they can flatten the battery before filling the carbs , facet do a good pump for bout 30-34 quid ,low psi 1 is 2-4psi so you wont need a pressure reg to stop it overcoming ya needle valve n flooding carb , ive run a facet on my 66 triumph car for bout 3 years now an its been real good, couple of advantages ,1 if ya switch it seperate to ignition its extra security/immobiliser ,just dont label the switch or ya can hide it in cab. 2 when low on fuel it gives a warning by going from a nearly inaudible ticking to a "angry woodpecker" in the boot as it draws air . 3 its one less potential air leak on the manifold over a vacumn 1 . just a idea . Have you taken the diff ratio into account?

if it was me i`d go for an electric pump and fit a dual banjo to the carb so you can have a return to the tank, you may need to fit a restrictor in the fuel line so as not to have too high a fuel pressure in the float bowl.
vamum pumps can be unreliable and may need priming.

the leds are a good idea i have a few on my scoot pilot light, rear and brake. together they use about 2watts. i tried the led head lights but found them a bit dim for a primmie 28/69 listed on this gearing calculator www.scooterhelp.com/tuning/vespa.sf.gear.calc.htmlso i guess they are available

Rims should be the same as Cosa. I'll maybe get a chance to measure up later on.

Okay, just did a quick visual on an ordinary Vespa split rim beside an Ape. The traditional outside rim (internal on an Ape)appears to be much the same whilst the internal side is around an inch wider. Presuming the Zadra kit still has clearance when you change the geometery then you could look at using the external side from GS160/SS180 rims which are an inch or so wider with more offset.

You're getting yourself confused. Using a tradition Vespa split rim (2.10)reversed will reduce the width and make little or no difference to the inside offset, the Cosa rim reversed will be exactly the same (or as near as damn it without one to hand to double check for sure) as the Ape item. Using what would be the outside part of the GS/SS on the inside of the Ape rim will increase the width with more inset towards the suspension and driveshafts providing it doesn't foul on anything. Maybe see if anyone has an old knackered set that you can try to see if they'll work before shelling out on new ones.

Well if Henri measures his Cosa one I'll see if it's the same as the Ape but I'm pretty sure they'll be exactly the same only reversed. The best stuff you can get for unsiezing nuts etc, if you're not able to drop it in a bucket of Diesel, is graphite penetrating oil.

It already has longer inlet duration. With opened sealing pad you will get about 180 deg.
