Just to mention it: My wife finally had enough with me buying books all the time (some 2 500 or so lying around here, even though we have donated a few boxes to charity recently), so she bought me one of them Kindle E-readers. After overcoming initial qualms I'm pretty much sold now, brilliant little gadget, I think, with loads of cheap books around, most classics are free even. Not sure about the not-so-easy-to-divorce marriage to Amazon, if it should start bugging me more than it does now you can always jailbreak it, or whatever it is called.

Only just got to post a comment in this section. Irvine Welsh the guy who wrote Trainspotting and the likes is well worth checking out. His newest book out Skag Boys is about the characters from Trainpotting before they start using Heroin. A very dark but also laugh out loud book at times.Loads of references to the music and bands of that era which i like. Trainspotting is probably my all time favourite of them all. Better than the film but most books are though arent they.

Have you read Welsh's Filth Shaun? Pretty decent although I've not watched the film yet.
Last night I saw a link to something that tickled my fancy so I'll get it for myself. Deep Sea and foreign going by Rose George.

Not too sure if I'm keen as most of my reading is done in bed and I'm not a lover of having electronics in the bedroom other than a blanket and the occasional toy. Plus I think I'd struggle to get along with it anyway, I like the organic feel and smell of paper, but I suppose you did also?

Good reads, have a read of 'The Marabu Stork Nightmares' by Welsh too fuckin gritty stuff make ya hair curl, I thought it was more gruesome than trainspotting and skagboys, from memory I remember it being shortish stories its been a while, but my mate lent me skagboys a few months back

When my wife first suggested that I told her to get lost with that newfangled shite. The funny thing is that once I had it for two weeks or so someone handed me a paperbook to read a passage, and I actually tried to turn the page by prodding it with a finger though. Which is what you do when turning the page with the Kindle. They are superhandy when reading in bed because the background illumination is just great. Still you do have a point with what you say about electronic stuff in the bedroom.

Any of the James Patterson books are a good read.
Quick paced and short chapters too....
