Hows this pipe looking still? Did your treatment work? Where can i buy ipa or would nail varnish remover work? Cheers shane Shane - IPA can be had most easily from Maplins comes in either a spray can or larger format in a tin. Not the same as nail varnish remover (acetone) as it leaves far less residue behind when it evaporates. I even use it for cleaning the sensor in my camera (not recommended by Canon but nervermind) in very small doses. With a pipe, be liberal with it and repeat a couple of times, as basically each time you wipe the pipe over, the IPA will be thinning out the grease not removing it totally. A few good rub downs with fresh kitchen paper doused in IPA will leave your new pipe squeaky clean and ready to hold onto the heat proof lacquer as well as it can.
