I've just had one of those cranks done for my road bike with that rod.. I'll try to find out. The standard mazz one doesnt have many rollers in it if you look. Did you use the same rod then Tony? if so were the oil ways left or filled in? Have you got a pic of the finished crank?

Yes identical setup if thats the 54. The rod was machined down but left as wide as poss. Oil ways were put back in..you need to do this is you remove the shims. If i get a minute i'll sort a picture.

A few bits turned up today. 2nd hand Keihin 34mm carb, should be alright once cleaned up an re jetted 2nd hand RD350LC Powervalve servo New Powervalve control unit from Ignitech in czechoslovakia. The unit also came with software to map the opening and closing of the powervalve. It looks realy easy to wire up and the software looks simple to use to.

I'm hoping it will be better this time It had just under 22hp on jb dyno. A couple more therefore on most others. But it was only 58x51 then. The t5 barrel has loads of potential port area so hopefully with a decent pipe it should get up to where I want it to terrorise the local lambrettas again.

Wayne,
how is the powervalve servo controlled? Mechanically, throttle position?
Good luck with the project!

Theres a picture of the control unit about 4 posts back, its an electronic unit that picks up the pulses from the ignition to determine rpm. The unit is mapped on your pc and then opens and closes your servo/powervalve by configurable amounts at configurable rpm ranges.
It also has a throttle position sensor that can use if you like (This can be turned on and off) and it can also work with either single or dual spark ignitions.

it seems a waste to buy all those new bits then use a second hand carb , although it may look ok the slide may be worn , for the cost of a few £££ more id buy new

Not much of an update really but an update never the less. I went to have a look at the casings last friday and he has finally started working on them and the gasket face has now been machined perfectly flat. he has had take off a little more than we first wanted due to a very uneven gasket face surface. Its now as flat as a pancake. This week he should be boring out the casings for the cylinder to match and opening up the stud holes to M8 using one of his CNC machines. Hes using his CNC machine so he can remember the hole positions to create the packer plate and also make a thicker packer plate if the lower gasket face has affected the distance calculations. I'll try to take some pics on Friday if I get chance. I now have all of the electric's so we can start to locate them on brackets under the seat and as I said earlier the seat and rads are now located just leaving the holes in the legsheilds to drill, blast and paint. I'll also get some pics this week of the frame and post them too. A few bits turned up from Terry Ward yesterday and can be seen below. I'll post the pics as soon as I have them later on in the week Falc Clutch, writing looks a little dodgy in the pic, but its actually machined on the and really does look smart Primarys off PKMATT 27/69 and DRT parastrappi primary repair kit to be fitted later this week for a bit of extra strength DRT Parma Xmas tree 10/14/18/19 DRT55 1st Standard54 2nd DRT51 3rd DRT47 4th Vespatronic

wayne.. i fit that bearing pressure plate the other way round. Also with this rotax power you may need the parastrappi and not the cush repair kit. I'm not sure that basket will last long?

I did ask Terry about the this but he said that it should be fine and that I could just use the DRT primary repair kit, I guess because this will replace the weak point in the rivets and comes with improved springs? ps the clutch isnt fitted yet but dont worry because when i get the casings back and before I start building YOU WILL be getting plenty of PM's asking about the which, what and why, why, why ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well keep an eye on it. I've broken them with a lot less than 30hp. What happens is with the high rpm they can open up and the clutch actually jumps through the middle. One piece came off one I broke came out through the clutch cover dumping oil everywhere.

Wayne, don't forget that you'll need a Zirri gears selector/cruciform or you'll have jumping gears!
