Hi Felice, Thanks mate but I already have everything I need ;D Im just waiting for the last few parts to turn up and to collect my casings and then its just a matter of putting them all together and setting everything up right ;D ;D ;D Ive decided to chop up my hammerzombie and use that initially with the original 54mm piston. Once Ive got it back on the road AND saved up MORE cash!!!! I'll then have it bored out to 57mm, tuned and then have a custom pipe made.

That sounds nice mate ! Pff I'm really undecided, cash is always the damn problem. I also have or had at least everything I needed to complete the whole prototype. Anyway I wish you good luck building it up ! ;D Felice

Another delay with the powervalve control unit, but it has been shipped out today ;D
I also should have had the casings machined to accomodate the crank today, I'll find out @ 07:00am tomorrow morning if its been done as I have to pick up the crank so that I can have it split and then have the new 110mm conrod machined to size and then fitted next week.
Also starting work on the frame tomorrow, 50 spesh mudguard on PK forks, mounting points welded in place for the radiators, mounting point for waterpump, mounting points for all electrics inc battery and powervalve controls etc, new nuts welded to frame to accomodate race seat as old ones are knackered etc etc etc
Hopefully all of the bodywork and casing mods should be finished by next weekend just leaving a dry build and then spray job.
I'll post some pics as and when I take them to keep you up to date

Just be round to my mates to see how hes getting on with the frame. Hes removed the old threaded seat nuts and replaced them with new ones and has located the race seat. Hes also welded the brackets in place and mounted the twin radiators. That just leaves the mudguard to do then its blasting, making brackets for electrics then paint ;D I'll get some pics posted this week when I get the frame back ;D

Are you going to fit the rads like on the LD Shee on scooterotica? They look quite similar. ;D Pics would be nice.

Wow that thing is awesome!
The answer to you question is no, there higher up and mounted behind the leggies. They'll be a hell of a lot less engineering in this thread ;D

Got the crank split on Saturday and going to be dropping off both conrods to the machine shop in the morning. As you asked for some pics Max: Heres the split crank Heres the 110mm Aprilia conrod above the smallie 97mm conrod Heres the Aprilia Big end next to the smallie big end showing how much needs to be machined off Heres the Aprilia Big end bearing next to the smallie big end bearing showing again how much wider the Aprilia big end is Heres the Aprilia Big end next to the smallie big end showing how much needs to be machined off the external diameter I'll post some pics up of the casings etc hopefully next week

Wayne, are you sure the big end area will be strong enough when machined down with those cut-outs in it?

Wayne, are you sure the big end area will be strong enough when machined down with those cut-outs in it? Good point, it needs about 3.5mm from each side coming off. I'll check it out tomorrow with the machinist/engineer to see if he thinks it needs filling in before the machine work

Wayne, are you sure the big end area will be strong enough when machined down with those cut-outs in it? cant you take meat off the inside of the web to accommodate the wider rod? something im thinking about when i do mine, dont know if its ok to do though?

No, dont machine the webs. There isnt much material as it is. You could leave out the shims..BUT you must machine oil ways as per original rod if you do this. Also look into a decent big end bearing as the mazz one is not very nice. You will need to machine a 'rod-way' in the case once this rod is fitted. Have a look at a falc crank to see what I mean.

I've just had one of those cranks done for my road bike with that rod.. I'll try to find out. The standard mazz one doesnt have many rollers in it if you look.
