MOT done this morning, weather a bit cool and a sprinkling of snow last night but roads OK.
First time it's been off the avenue, 6 miles to the MOT station, ran OK but didn't seem to like the hills, not clutch slipping just loss of power and then it would kick in again.
I think the fuel pipe might be on the long side, plus I've installed a fuel filter, possible fuel starvation

but a MOT done an first shake-down run without a break-down , result ,happy for ya,would the power kick back in as throttle was slightly shut ,as thats a sign of tad rich on main jet, otherwise your first thoughts are most likely , easy fix , cut pipe/dump filter =happy scooting , H

Backed off the throttle thinking it might be over jetted but didn't make a difference. Put a new fuel pipe without the filter tonight, took almost 2 inches out of the length of the original with the filter.
Going to have to fit a rivnut for the seat pin what a pain to change the fuel pipe, had to remove the exhaust, then the seat pin, finally the tank just to get to it

Applied for a V5 after getting through MOT, get home from work Friday and there's a nice brown envelope waiting from the DVLA for me. Put the kettle on, make a drink and open envelope thinking they'd be a V5 with notification of number plate and it's a letter saying unable to process as when NOVA database checked frame has never been registered. So crack on registering and I get an email that they want to talk to me about the VAT to be paid when a vehicle's imported. Tried ringing and they're shut for the week-end. I think I was right when I named the thread

do you know when an where frame was imported from , as if european/italy its EEC an no vat is due ,if youve no docs for how much the vehicle cost abroad how are they goin to work out the % duty owed on it , how long was vehicle off the road before you got it , as if a long while its more likely it was registered once an has fallen off there system when it changed over to computers an doesnt/never needed a nova number , a e mail to piaggio will get ya a date of manufacture an possibly a destination for export , otherwise a dating cert from 1 of the clubs will get a date ,tho 1 from the veteran vespa club might also have a douglas import date if its a "english" scoot .H

ya bought it as scrap from the back of a pikeys transit , but will still need a dating cert or its a "new" reg an will need indies/front brake light switch n "single vehicle approval" , ive seen V5's n stamps for sale on flea bay , an its only "ringing" if knicked an immoral if you try n inflate it to a 90ss , H

Better news tonight, although my application for a V5 did included a dating cert, MOT and Insurance, when I got home from work rang NOVA and all they wanted was a receipt, kept him on the phone while I emailed the PAYPAL receipt from ebay. He then said nothing to pay and I should get a confirmation letter in the post in 7 to 10 working days. I won't hold my breath

I want to stamp the chassis. The frame I bought had a chunk missing wher the chassis number would be, it'd been cut away for some big carb application and been lost years ago. I want to make good the frame and put the chassis number where it should be.

That's good news, one less hassle and one more back on the road. The orange one I built last year has been sold to a chum and is also going through registration, two in one week! Soon there will be as many smallframes on the road as 'genuine' 'original' gp200 electronics!!!!!

Got home from work to find a brown envelope from the DVLA containing a V5. Historic taxation class and allocated an old "D" registration plate. Just need to get the plate made up now and we're all legal
