Yes that was me making a brief appearance once I'd re built my clutch. Just bought some blue, black and white leathers off ebay for £24 to go with the helmet for next year. Only problem is when I put them on I look like some sort of vespa power ranger and everyone Ive shown them to piss themselves laughing!!! I will be back next year with my bike set up for sprinting and looking like an eighties throw back ;D

Whilst it was a good machine. I didn't look at it as this was a 2 wheeled event and I didn't see the point. There is great engineering everywhere but again.... This was a 2 wheeled event and I wasn't interested. I personaly would'ny have given a shite if it had 19 wheels. As a matter of fact that would have made it even more interesting to me. ;D However my interests span more than just scooters and basically anything that has been made to go faster than it should do or anything that somebody has built from scratch and goes fast really rocks my boat. I guess it just a matter of what your into really ;D I just love the thought of building something from scratch, being 12" of the floor and hurtling down the strip at over a 100mph! Awesome Trev keep up the good work Yep while i get that wayne. I am not that narrow minded. But it was a scooter event. And also the few bikes that were there shouldnt of run either. You tend to lose sight of the quick scooter times when something like this runs as it completey destroys all the times and can make the scooters look shit. There are many events for mixed stuff. And its here they should shine.

yeah mate... so do i...
However. I have been to both these events now. To race against other scooters and set speeds against other scooters. I enjoyed the event. But I would like to see it scooter only. No R1s, Cbr600s or 3 wheeled exotic machines. If they go down the route of diluting it then this will become just another sprint meet and the 'scooter shootout' will be pointless.

I'm with Tony on this. Why call it a scooter shootout if you then have non scooter vehicles racing?

Not logged on for a bit due to working 14 hours a day 7 days a week but have to agree with you Max and Tony as i was disappointed to see some none scooter related machines going up the strip. Is it or was it a scooter shootout or Straightliners or Run Wot Ya Brung Event? At one point i was going to suggest to Max that we get the van entered in the 1/4 mile, after all we did have two unused tents in the back that could have used as parachutes to stop us once reaching warp speed ;D

I'm with Tony on this. Why call it a scooter shootout if you then have non scooter vehicles racing? Just to put this into prospective there where three bikes that went down the track,, and they where all belonging to people that had worked all weekend at the event 1 Phil Gilson on his B King he was your 1/8 mile start line marshal 2 Phil Wood on the Bussa he was your Scrutinear 3 Was a scooter rider on an R1 he just wanted to see how it compered to his scoot 4 The Three wheeler my bike, there was lots of interest in it from visiters and competitors alike, it holds World and British Records for the 1/4 mile, Kilo and Mile both standing start and flying start disciplines in 250cc 350cc and 500cc ,,,Thats a lot of history and my interest in scooters goes back to the Fred Willingham era when we raced side by side and learnt together the wonders of the two stroke engine I personaly do not see how these bikes had an effect on the event it was just my thank you to the crew that worked very hard on the weekend,,,,Trev
