Col - well done! it looked mad in the pack.
If those who werent there could imagine hitting your favorite roundabout faster than you thought possible then having 20 more of you doing the same thing trying to use the same bit of road all going too fast - that's what the autos race looked like for the first few laps going into Edwina's chicane - scary!
Shaggy, thanks - parked behind team woodspeed
Thanks for the help John, adspeed and others
Russ nice to meet you
Tony- great engine, I think it's suprised a few people who never saw you race it, Thanks

gareth. Thankyou. Its not that bad eh! Glad you are liking it. Will have your seat tomorrow.. I am a bit confused by the top speed thing on the results. Top speed at Mallory is around 100 mph. And to think of it Mallory has a first gear hairpin. So it doesn't equate. Anyway... It was a pretty good day. Who is going pembrey. Col you got a frame yet?

nice one!
i think the top speed thing is an incorrect copy and paste by Red on the BSSO site. I think it means average speed on the fastest lap? have a look at the link I posted above.

Nice one Col! Did you take a change of pants with you? ;D YES mate i did... can honestly say its the most scared ive ever been...... a lammy rider had a nasty accident right in front of me at the chicane....... i avoided him and his scoot, but the race was stopped and we had too line back up on the grid and wait for a restart while the medics checked him and then ambulanced him off.... ( thankfully he is O.K now).... the waiting bit and deadly silence was horrid... thanks for coming over Gareth and your encouragement........ also dont be fooled by the slightly wrong results print out........ John WOODSPEED was on his Blue FALC "SS" with those times and speeds you see above...... i think he used his timing transponder on both his Vespa and his Piaggio ZIP 77cc auto, both extremely fast but in different races.... so the wrong scooter is listed in both sets of race times....

Shame Pembrey is so far away - be good to see the smallies taking off from the front. Interesting to see what difference a clear start makes (hopefully a 1st & 2nd place!)

You did good mate. I watched the first race and I was amazed.. Well done indeed. thanks very much mate... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D you read it here first forum members...... he does mean me right.............. i too was dead impressed with the smallframe performances..... the thing is the race meetings are shared with the classic motorcycle brigade... so when the see a heavily modified cut down Lammy, i think they see a mini motorcycle that is expected to be quick, but when they see a "humble" smallframe Vespa i think they expect to have a sly giggle... How wrong they are................ 4 good friends of mine made the 300 round trip to cheer me on, but THEY spent far too much time drooling over the proper scooters in the paddock, to watch me on an AUTO................ I have no complaints......
