Hi Paolo and welcome. Most of us are still trying to find out about the Quattrini versus the Parmakit. What we've dug up so far sugguests that the Parma has more potential top end power but the M1 is probably more user friendly. As for your problem with SIP have you tried e-mailing Ralf directly?I've found that this is the best solution in the past. ralf@sip-scootershop.deAs for getting the coil seperately, sorry but I can't help you on that. Good luck.

Just had a quick look on the other board (the one without nudity ) but will reply here seeing as the questions have been posted by ozzy and paulo.. (and I don't want to be seen to be posting on all boards again, hank) I like the idea of just having to do the ports too, not sure for deffinate but I believe a 24mm will do for a start (Terry gave this size in one of his posts and confirmed in an email if I remeber rightly?! will check) but can use 25, 26 or 28 unless you do porting on the barrel and then I think they will take just about anything (I have trawled the net for info on these things but not found anything specific and like everythnig else it depends on what else you do..) take a look at this link for how well the M1 goes!!! and notice no massive carb or manifold sticking out anywhere!!!! Absolubtly awesome and my name will be on one just as soon as I have saved enough pocket money..... Not even gonna bother looking at the parmakit anymore my mind is made up..

I think that someone like shane or ozzy with loads of money ( ;D) should dive in and get a M1, so we can get a definite review on how good they are, before us paupers manage to scrape the money together i'd rather put my money towards a better exhaust, HP4 or maybe even a proper paintjob at the moment, but in the future, I'd be going for something a bit hotter

Any news on how reliable these kits are yet? I'm building a new SF next fall/winter when the paychecks starts coming in, and I'm thinking about what to do with the engine.
Would a M1 kited motor last a whole season if it's set up right? I don't want to go crazy, but I would like to use an alloy barrel.

My only concerns are the single ring and shitty circlips. I don't think the ring is too much of an issue as the nikasils run close tolerances but I'd still keep an eye on the wear,it isn't cheap to replate. As for the circlips I think it maybe worth looking into Grand Sport items as they do look a little better. I doubt in a touring/fast road application that the gears/clutch etc will be too bad but I suppose that comes down to how hard you ride it.I'd be worried over choice of suitable clutch more than anything.Perhaps we need to look at this, the Zadra items look superb if very pricey but I've no idea if they're suitable for road usage. Hopefully Curare will come into this thread and share some of the findings, good or bad,on the motors that he has built so far.

Cheers Hank.... If I was loaded I would have had one by now, and I would hope that it would be still running too!! Surely the nicasil lining and single ring should have a lot less friction and therfore be far superior to my well thrashed cast polini with its bent piston and scored barrel!!!!! and therefore I would be hoping to get atleast 2 weeks out of it.....
Seriously though, other than the other parts of the engine breaking down quicker the barrel should last as well as, say t5 barrels should they not?!?! so if everything is checked/replaced when its installed a season should be a doddle yeah?!
in saying that, I am a bit aprehensive as to how many miles the other bits of 70's technology will last as the bearings in mine only lasted 3500 miles but probably down to the heavy flywheel more than anything...
