Not sure if this is the place for this, but we here in NZ had a race day at a previously un-scoot-thrashed track in New Plymouth, and figured you guys might be interested. One of the crew had been very industrious (and secretive) over winter and built a 24+ HP quattrini 125cc Liquid cooled motor for his ss90. My Cutdown Pk sheared the flywheel rivets in practice-which sucked, but this meant I later had an excuse to thrash a few other racer's scoots including the new quattrini monster. It was an excellent motor and more than a match for the worked TS1 Lammy on the track (which I also had a go on). Butchered ss90,yup. I hassled the butcher- he says he still has all the pieces of metal cut out to repair it, and will make it look nice one day fairly soon...

cheers, Kombi's a 1963, so kind of a transition year. I think Wheel sizes, front indicators and maybe rear window size changed late 63. Also I imagine it's Australian production, so may be different to european models of the same year. It's very handy for shifting dead scooters.

Hassle the butcher some more.. no need for all that not for 24hp.

Don't mind hassling the owner more, but no need for all that? which part? the indiscriminate chopping? the watercooled cylinder? I still think aircooled is the way to go-simpler, and if your scoot's anything to go by, can still be fast enough for pretty much anyone!

I dont mind the watercooling... but to me if you are gonna do it do it to the spec of the frame. Out of interest.. most of our races here in uk... and in fact when we went to the nurburgring we set our fastest laps on the second from last lap. So what I'm saying is... there is probably very little need for watercooling at these race distances as the motors were set up right... maybe we could lean them off a little with lc... but I'm happy with it at the moment.. its the rider that lets the side down
