I’ve just got a down and forward exhaust SIMONINI the bloody manifold!!
Has any one got one the manifold I cant get a nut on the wheel side the nut its too wide ( 8mm polini threads) manifold pipe and welds get in the way.
Has any one had the same problem – was thinking taking the stud out of the barrel and using an allen key bolt with a smaller head is the only solution -- ive ground down the welds a little as there was a big blob in the way but i dont want to do any more as its getting a bet close -- to what its there for

measure and cut the stud so its just long enough for the gasket, flange, nut and washer. You should be able to grind enough of the weld away at the flange to just give you clearance for the nut. When you tighten the nuts down alternate between the two to maintain the clearance on the wheel side, its tight but it should just fit.

I agree with this. Don't forget to leave enough thread. You could also use some strong thread lock as well. Some people also wire lock the nut in place.
I had exactly the same problem with a simonini years back and did the same. I also had to weld a bit on the inside as there was too little penetration on the exterior weld.
If you still have no room because the nut is too wide, you can use a japanese m8 nut as they usually have a 12mm outside diameter giving you a luxurious extra half a millimeter clearance. Don't forget to then use a 12mm spanner.

use m8 K Nut. You can buy em off ebay or motorsport shops... merlin motorsport for example.

those k nuts look good --but have used a car clutch bolt with a smaller allen keyhead had to just skim it still with the grinder to get the head to be smaller -- - and cut down a allen key to get in the tight spot!!!!- the manifold seems to hit the shock as well apart from that it looks a good pipe wish i new about those k nuts before -- but jobs done for now just hope it holds
apart from the above -- the muffler seems to have been redesigned to come back to the orginal kickstart problem side problem on the orginal pipes-- they just need to sort the manifold problem out.
