Hi all, hope christmas was a good one! I am trying to get the front hub of my 64 v90 apart, have removed it from the fork and shock, wheel is off and have taken out a little bolt from the wheel side (locates in a hole in the wheel. How do I get the front of the hub off to expose the brakes? on the backside at the end of the axle (?) is a nut, but I cant seem to undo it or rather I cant seem to hold the unit whilst trying to undo it - (don't know even if I should be trying to undo it) help please!! Tom Sorry for more dunce questions!

Hi tom..firstly i think the nut is reverse thread..its been a long time since i took one apart.. however. The steel drum you have exposed, and removed the location screw should simply knock off now..its probably corroded a little to the backplate underneath. The backplate has a shaft on it held by the reverse thread nut which is on the other side under rubber bung as you describe. If you screw in two of the hub bolts back into hub you may be able to lock them with a bar and undo nut. Use a brass drift to knock out the shaft for easy access to the shoes..tho taking them off may be possible with the shaft/plate in place. hope that helps.
