I bought a crankshaft kit from the Taffs in 1994, and only just getting round to fitting it. on the stock code it's marked 'mazamt160k'. Is this the right one as now the flywheel doesn't fit very well.
Also, I wanna upgrade to 12v electrics, and have been told I need a stator and flywheel from a PKS. I've got some bits knocking around, but need to know part numbers, and how to tell if they are the right bits.
Anyone able to help?
Many thanks.

I've no idea on the code but all pre-PKXL and ETS cranks are 19/20mm cones so it should fit, maybe a little valve grinding paste could help here.
As for the ignition it sounds like someone is trying to make money. The flywheel is electronic so no need to swop that for a start and I'm pretty confident that Beedspeed could convert your stator to 12v for a not unreasonable sum.

It was someone at Beedspeed who gave me a list of stuff I would need co convert to 12v!
If I keep my electronic ignition, can I not somehow re hash the stator to output 12v?

I have tried to go down this route too mate.. Was given the same advice from beedspeed!! there is a 12v pk stator and flywheel on scootertrader for £50 at the mo, don't think you will get 12v any cheaper than that mate!!

you can rewind the stator its a bit of a cunt to do you have to use thinner wire and wind more turns for a higher voltage and alternate clockwise then anticlockwise on each of the 5 poles then center tap 1 end of the wire and use the other end of of it as the positive, or take the coils of a 12 volt px/t5 and put them on your stator but it is tedious to rewind them without a machine and you need to know how many turns and thicknes of stator wire. whats wrong with 6 volts a 35w halogen is the same brightness no matter the volage only the current changes. try here it might be cheaper to rewind it www.westcountrywindings.com/

I had an et3 stator converted form 6 to 12 volt, For 12 of the queens pounds from Beedspeed.

you just link the coils together-however one of them has to be linked back to front as its round the other way... must use a 12v regulator after.
