Do you get the cases apart? Cylinder off, clutch out, bolts out... Can't get it more than a mil apart?

you've taken every bolt out (inc. the ones behind the stator) and also knocked the metal locating plug out?

down near the bottom corner of the engine, theres a thick metal plug which you need to knock thro (not all the way) just enough for it to clear one casing. it gets left in one side of the casing and when you close the casings, you can just knock it back in. you will have to do a fair amount of wiggling to seperate the cases anyway, try moving the kickstart a bit. you can see the plug in the following pictures:

Ah, okay.
Didn't have to do that on my sprint, wonder if there maybe isn't one...?
Will also try moving the kickstart
Cheers

Right, knocked locating plug out of flywheel side, which has opened up a gap of a few mil at the back, still can't move the cases apart at the front of the engine
A little scared to try any wedges inbetween the cases for fear of damaging the gasket face.
Any more ideas?
removed the flywheel oil seal & tried heating up around the flywheel side bearing.

Could I undo the clutch drive nut so that the crank comes away with the flywheel side casing?

Undid primary and cases toppled apart.
Crank in flywheel side, so it must have just been that.
Given that I don't want the crank (it's only got 1/2 a con-rod) in a Blind date stylee...
"Will it be workshop tool number 1 - the lump hammer
or workshop tool number 2 - the blow torch
or a combination of the two?"

dont know why piaggio fitted that one pice bearing, its fucking useless. replace it with a nu204 when you build the new motor.

It should tap out fine with the hammer, give it some heat if you're not confident.
