having been down the lambretta tuning road and back again I understand why tuners are always asking "what do you want from your scooter" so im wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a suitible kit to fit my needs on my et3. Im 15 stone and 6 foot, im working on the 15 stone bit I want to ride my et3 one up with the occasional passenger. I like the "washing machine" power delivery of the standard engine so dont want to go too far of the charactoistics of the et3. i have tried a lightened flywheel on the standard engine and that fixes the exeleration issue quite well. so what im looking for is a bit more torque to pull the tall 4th gear to cruise at 60/65mph using a standard pipe and carb. I would be happy with a lot more power but my ts1 has shown me that a short tank range is a real negative as i only do longish trips and hate the panic of no fuel. (just fitted a 17 1/2 litre tank now). so unless there is a super big tank out there for the et3 then I would like to keep the mpg as good as possible. im probably asking the impossible to want it all. but there must be some good touring orientated kits/tunes ?? the motor is about to be rebuilt so a long stroke crank or other mods is not out of the question. I d be interested to hear what you have, how it performs, mpg and what you would recomend. cheers nick

A polini kit will up your power a bit.
With my polini (unmatched to cases) I got about 70mpg (0,35 l/10km dunno if i got the conversion right)
this scooter preforms a bit less than a std. p200, both in terms of speed and acceleration. This was with a 19mm carb and polini exhaust.
match the ports with it's apart to improve flow.

i realise we are spoiled for choice for kits, dr polini and molossi are the simple cheep ones.
so whats the pros and cons between them?

The DR is lower tuned than the others but not by much compared to the Polini.I'm personally not a fan of the DR but it has it's numbers. The Polini is the grand old lady of smallframe tuning with huge potential if you know what you're doing. So that's me buggered then. ;D The Malossi is a more revvy kit, they can be great fun if you're in the mood but I personally find them a pain in the arse for an every day bike/tourer.Given that you're a fairly big lad I'd discount this immediately. I have to say 65mph is a little ambitious as a bolt on,esspecially with the standard carb and pipe.

Oh yeah,no idea on long range tanks for a smallframe but I've got one in my P2 cutdown.
You can fit a stroker crank but I'm not sure if it'll get you closer to what you want.

thanks for the replies
whats the real top speed of the et3. we have two...his and hers and hers is a 5000 miles bike with service history which is a rare thing on a scooter but it shows flat out at 65 one up.
I asume there is a % out any idea whats realistic out of an et3? standard and pepped up?
