well i have a new problem. i get a bad missfire when the engine is warm....any ideas ?

Missed this until now.
Could be a number of things but I'd start by checking the condition of the stator plate.

Whip flywheel off and inspect the wiring.TBH,and if you've not done this already,you'd be as well getting new points and condensor if you do. Could be the coil but I ain't mates with electrical gubbins fella.

wiring looks ok mate. ponts n condenser replaced only 2 months ago. would incorrectly adjusted points do this???

It's possible.
Just wondering about you asking about the HT lead the other week,have you botched it up and it started after that?

good point mate but no, i replaced the whole coil and lead. done approx 50 miles no problem and now its started. how about timing?? can that move??
