I have been building a trailer for me scoot for a while and bought a proper bracket and ball from Watsonian. Thing is the trailer is only single wheel (used a set of forks as the main frame with the body being made up from a couple of old side panels). Does anyone know if the ball and hitch will be enough to keep the trailer on when going around corners or when I stop will it fall over and come off?

you could try fitting a snake bar to stop it moving around to much

Not sure this will work, from what I remember the Lammy PAV trailers using the single wheel use a pivoting "solid mount" arrangement rather than the ball hitch.

snake bar is a stabilizer bar that fits to both your trailer and car/van.but i have only fitted them on a ball hitch so like juan says not sure it would work or not on your trailer.bulldog sell lots of stabilizer bars for towing could give them a look on the net

I'm thinking I may have to change my set up. I had been advised (after I had bought the ball and hitch set up) that this wouldn't work because the trailer was single wheeled. As I don't want to fit stabilisers to the trailer to stop it tilting over and poping the hitch joint I may have to go for something different. I do have a fiesta steering joint that allows side to side and up and down movement that would be a rigid fix. May have to call on the talents of Sugerlump again to help me out. May also be a PX Watsonian towbar and hitch coming up for sale soon!

They cost about 85 quid new, if I have to sell mine I'll let it go for a bit less than that, but as it's never been used not for silly money, probably 60 for bar and tenner for hitch. Would have to be pick up or local delivery as they cost a lot to post, very heavy and awkward shape.
Will take and post some photos this weekend if I get the chance.
