it was ok.. very cold.. I didnt take a camera tho. No room in the car for my kit. My boot was filled with my my mate Kieran's kit and a race motor. He is going to cover racing this year with a view to producing a 'feature' article. his website is here kierandoherty.com/#/Books/Editorial%20/1let page load and click on 'blog'.

Not quite the day i had planned, 50p woodruff key spoils all the fun after only 3 sessions. Good job its having a refresh before the season kicks off. Me thinks i need a list of items which i shall carry at all times ie WOODRUFF KEYS

I must admit after almost a season of me abusing the engine for the woodruff key to go is pretty dam good. Charlie is going to update a few things inside the motor and Tony is going to give me a riding lesson ;D. Lucky i took the old zip with me. Got to say after racing the SS and then jumping back on the zip my riding of the zip was better, just goes to prove how hard the SS can be to ride. Great fun day , roll on round 1.

spot on john... hope your season goes well.... how does the ss compare to the zip on handling and braking... the zips look very impressive. SS`s have got to be the best looking race scoots by a mile...

The zip weights 69kg and the SS 73kg but the SS has a shorter wheelbase making it less stable at higher speeds ( or should i say more intresting at higher speed) I run 90/90/10 front on both zip an SS and 3.50/10 rears, turns in nice an quick, but i need to try a 3.50/10 front as i have been told this should help handling. Mind you the SS has at least 11bhp more than the zip. Changing direction from right to left hard on the gas in 3 and the front gets skitish, but were getting used to it now ;D

Kieran is one of the best in the world in this field. Very un assuming fella...looking forward to see what he comes up with this year. Hopefully he'll give an insight that I couldnt capture as whenever I turned up with a camera in the paddock the guys all start mucking about with me!
