Hi all, was giving the scoot a bit of a clean last night when i noticed that the bolt which sits behind the rear shocker was sticking out by about 15-20mm and was only being stopped from coming out further by the shocker.... had a look in haynes and couldn't find any reference to this bolt!! any ideas what it holds in?? its quite a big bolt for it not to be doing anything...
managed to tighten it slightly but without removing the shocker I can't see a way of getting it really tight so will be doing that some time soon as the 5 mile ride in to work this morning has loosened it again...
Cheers Shane

it just seems to go through the casings (side closest to the hub) I assume it is holding something on inside as it isn't holding anything to the outside... its the one that you can't get a spanner or socket on because of the rear shock..

do you mean this one? if it is, its part of the gear selector assembly that holds the cruciform and goes thro' to the gear changer at the bottom of the engine. it can unscrew a fair bit before i think it could do any harm and if its changing gear ok, its not done any harm.

It certainly is that one mate. Thankyou very much, a picture paints a thousand words and that.. That may also explain the slight oil leak I had too. Gears are fine so must have been lucky, have managed to get it nipped up now and was fine on way home, will have to keep an eye on it. cheers
