Hi there, Please go easy on me as this is my first post I've stripped my 1980 50 special down and have gone for the Polini 130cc kit and Mazucchelli racing crank, with this setup can I still use the original 50 special stator and flywheel or will I need to get a 125cc type? Are the crank tapers different? Cheers, Rog

The 50S stator/flywheel is points type i'd strongly recommend a electronic conversion, if you have the Mazza crank to fit a 50 caseing then you should have the thinner taper crank, you can get the MK1 PK or ET3 flywheels and stator's for these (SIP). Will also need CDI and regulator but will make a big difference. Bit of a pig to set up to start with as theres no marks for the stator to line up with. But not impossable.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking about putting electronic ignition on it, but I for now I'm just going to try and get it running with the points set up and get the electronic kit later when I can afford it!
