Got chance of a whole PX disc front end, can I take the fork link off this and swap it onto my (bare) pk fork?
is just take the everything off the px fork (apart from the shock & mudguard) and swap it on the pk fork and slap it in the primmy?
Cheers

Hi,
I have a px disk setup on my PK forks, goes on ok, but with a bit of a gap at the back of the back plate (the bit the caliper attaches too) of about 6mm. This works fine, and will try and get some photo's for ya later. Could maybe pop over and let you take a look if you like.. There is I'm sure a bit more to this setup as I have a receipt for a 6mm spacer for PX PK conversion so assume this spacer goes in this space, seems fine without it, but my concerns are with crap getting in, so will be looking into it further very shortly.
;D

What bits ok PK do you have remaining on your set up?
I'm getting a whole PX front end, so will be swapping over the caliper, disc, hub, backplate, axle, link etc...

As far as I know its the full PK fork, link and axle, with PX disc hub, backplate and caliper.
I never even thought about swapping the axle to be honest, I have some px forks in my shed somewhere think that its a bit tatty from what I can remember! who does the pressing for you?

It can be dodgy enough swapping the link especially if you don't have to and if he doesn't have the right tooling for the press.. I've seen a set of forks, or the link (it was a long time ago) crack when trying to swap a 2nd hand axle over

My pk fork is completely bare, so I need a link for it. I could (and would have to) buy a new link but as there is one on the fork I am buying (for the hub, backplate, disc caliper & master cylinder) I may as well give it a go.
Will be putting new pinset in.

ho ho ho, another wasted excursion for 2nd hand bits. Good condition no damage, 4 year old PX disc front end... think the fella must have caught it fishing!!!! every bit of paint was bubbling off (even the master cylinder lever! bearing had play in it, caliper "grabbed the disc" when you turned the hub and the shock was rusted through! £150... ?? Would probably have ended up costing me more than buying a new one.
