im working on a 50 spec, which has the original loom in place.
the ignition has been changed over to 12v elec
i am using an et3 rear light
HOWEVER the loom has no wiring for the brake light
so.... my question is HOW DO I 'WIRE UP' THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT?
cheers DAZ..

hi mate Live feed from the regulator to the brake switch on the pedal which must be a px type that "makes" a circuit on actuation of the brake pedal. Wire from the other side of this switch back to your et3 rear light connecting to one side of the brake light bulb. Then simply run an earth (to frame) from the other side of the bulb. The ET3 rear light unit may use a comon earth fro the tail and brake light so make sure you use this as your earthing side.

DAZ ahh... sorry mate didn't realise.. in that case i think its an et3 system and yes you are right 6v electronic. This system is similar to the points set up but these confuse me as they use circuits off the earth side of the coil. My advice is to convert the stator to 12v by linking the lighting coils(in the correct order) and buying a conversion loom (beedspeed) with regulator and corresponding switches. That system makes sense to me and is the same as a px type system. The loom is actually easy to make and I'll draw it for you if you want to make it yourself.
