I have a pair of BARE PK forks, and I'm not sure which PK they came out of.
What do I need to put a disc brake onto them and fit them into my primmy?
I've heard various stories that LOADS of modifications are required, and also that NO modifications are required.
Cheers
jim

jim, I think the only type of PK forks you can fit a disc to are these, which have a 20mm axle: theres a bigger gap between the shock and fork and the triangular bit at the bottom. you can spend about £210 for a grimeca semi-hydraulic kit or go for full hydraulic but you'll then need a master cylinder on headset, so some more work to do there. there may have been a kit for 16mm axles but not sure what forks they go on The only other thing is I'm not sure what you have to do at the top for a primmy not so sure its a straight fit at the headset. An expert like juan or oz will tell you that......

The 20mm forks go straight in. Head set will fit. The biggest pain in the arse is fittting the front mudguard. They are about an inch longer between the bottom bearing and the top shock mount. Doesn't show as much with the 50 special, I moved the horn casing down about 1/2 inch

Off the top of my head you may need to move the position of the steering lock but I'd need to check on that.If they're off an XL the stem will be around an inch longer and threaded all the way to the top. You'll need to cut the extra length off and remove the excess threading.

The Rotax has a SS90 mudguard...I enjoyed cutting that about ;D Didnt bother doing anything with the steering lock. I never use one.

Take a picture of the neck of the stem Jim. And if you were thinking a fully hydralic system then you might find this handy.

Cheers Juan, seen that and was planning on using that!
Why take a picture of the neck of the stem?
Will you be able to diagnose a model from that?
