Take the flywheel and puller to a local engineer, they should be able to repair the thread on them for you.

Just repaired the thread on my mates flywheel by milling a 45 deg chamfer. this rewmoved the damaged part of the thread - then i started the puller in (ensure it starts absolutely straight) and use a lot of lubricant
Better go to local workshop

Its all in the quality of the tools!!!!! bought a new puller from scootculture.org/universal.scooters/this is much stronger than the original one i got on ebay as part of a puller and holder set, which as it turns out was crap! i used loads of oil and was able to screw this one in without making the thread anyworse and i got it off! ;D its advertised on their ebay site as: "Vespa Flywheel Pulling Tool - PXdisc PX PE"
