To give you an idea of how long ago this project started... I had no digital camera, no computer or internet to surf, no brilliant sites like this one to check out even my Haynes manual was ordered for me from the library. ;D
By the way I'm only talking 2001 here but the help and sites available from then till now are unrecognisable, even e-bay wasn't the monster it is now. Search 'vespa' then and I remember only finding 65 items... that's true.
Anyway back to my V100, bought local through Scootering the old fashioned way. As it was my first scooter and I had waited almost 20 years to own one, the first few days were spent sitting on it in the garden. Actually the first part I bought for it was the new slope back seat... sad I know. As I've noted else where on this site I had a garage but no bench, no vice, no vespa tools and frankly no idea. But reading other posts where this seems to be the case led me to posting this tonight as I've enjoyed the various write ups and especially the photos so much.
I've dug out the pictures of my scooter and scanned them, their pretty self explanatry... the ones in my lounge were before we decorated it and used it as a living room, made for a great clean space for the rebuild. That was until the petrol went in one night and stunk the full house out.
The last couple you may have seen before on here, they are from this summer at Ayrshire Classic Motorcycle Show. Entering this is what finally made me get my finger out and get my smallframe where it belongs... on the road. Both my mate with the 125 Super and myself won prizes at the show... icing on the cake.
Fantastic site and I hope me rambling-on adds to this interesting forum and maybe be of help to other smallframe fans. ;D
ps. sorry for the PX
Mind you... now I see how straight the scooter was I wished I 'd have just done a 'rustoration'... ;D
