Probably be more powerful using the chair as a sail than using the engine when you have a tailwind! On second thoughts, I'd rather take the pushbike! thats just down the road from me

nice bit of info on this one off scooterotica site This scooter was built and tuned by my brother "Steve" It was an old primavera re-regisered onto a W reg after the old PK donor frame was a write off the scooter originaly built about 83 took many years of development as the racers that knew how to go about making a quick reliable liquid cooled road scooter were a little shy in giving information away and Steve was too skint to pay anyone to do it for him. Over the years it developed from an air cooled std, to an air cooled 58mm bore slightly tuned wqith a home made exhaust that faced forward this was in 1980-82... The scooter for Steve was never fast enough as it was, as my Lambrettas were always quicker so he always changed things different exhausts carbs and heads... finally he decided this was never going to be fast enough... So in about 84-85 a water cooled version was in development... it started off as a modified Autissa barrel (Steel liner) the original boost port transferes were welded up and the barrel reworked to include 4 transferes (using massively enlarged welded casings) and 1 wide boost port over the top of the barrel and into this a new steel barrel liner was replaced using a blank four stroke liner (Suzuki I think) with a bridged exhaust port, wide and square at the top, tapering at the bottom, the barrel was fitted with a water jacket and a one off head made from two pieces of billet aluminium worked to fit together then welded and machined as a gasket or O ring could leak this then bolted to the barrel water in through the cylinder then out of the head through an electronic water pump. Acouple of close ratio gear boxes were made by Steve, but I welded up the mainshaft's (clusters) for Steve Lots of other mods to make this run all done by Steve, Crankshaft Honda rod pressed (welded by me) suzuki piston and a few other trick bits including a "lightened flywheel" using battery powered electronicly aided points ignition ( Big Mistake) big revs for a road scoot which exploded the over lightened flywheel this let go "Big Style" in 1989... But it was one fast scooter... The Scooter was Stolen in about 98 ish... Never found only a couple of photos ever taken... Luckily one when the flywheel let go... heres the engine spec about the engine etc. -carb 26mm amal, power jet and chromed phozzie bronze slide. -inlet 137 btdc and 57 atdc (as big as i coul go). -transfers two main 25mm wide, two assist 7mm wide one at front of barrel 18mm wide all opened at about 128 deg 29mm over port. -exhaust 39.5mm wide, about 30.5mm over port. -piston suzuki ts125 xp 56mm repegged. 14mm small end with loose rollers and a pair of shims made from EN19 steel (now i would look at aprillia pistons). -crankshaft pk125 with the extra wide flywheel taper about 50% stronger than the standard and less prone to fatigue than the mdp ones. the con rod was honda rm125, INA big end bearing, 100mm between centers (this raises the red line a touch and gives more torque the maths is nasty so trust me). -cylider head had an original compression of 18:1 later 13:1 (18:1 just destroyed bigends and was prone to pinking) -exhaust was a modified honda rm480 (it came free of charge and was very fat , giving a bit of bottom end power) -clutch and primaries were pollini alloy straight cut with a heavy spring (ratio is 2% higher than standard). -gearbox was 1st,2nd,3rd standard italian, 4th was taken from the 3rd gear of a 90cc 3 speed box (this needs a work shop for grinding and welding) the final ratios where 1st,2nd,3rd 2% higher than standard 4th same as standard -cooling was water in through the head out over the top of the exhaust > into a cut down mini radiator (about 9 inches from top to bottom) this was controled by a thermostat switchiing on at 92 deg F. with a battery powered pump -ignition was originaly battery points, this was later replaced with a pollini plastic fly wheel and standard px200e stator. though I had to remove a little of the stator plate in order to fit it over the enlarged transfers of the case. original speed was about 80-85 mph but due to the need for reliability I had to make a few small modifications to slow it down. the biggest problem with pimmies are rust and the way they crumple up when you hit cars with them

Hi vascaro, do you know the engine specs? PS: got the pictures from flickr. ;D Madmax, I think for this race "24 hours" they go with polini 75hp, I dont have much more information about the bike, sorry . But good mechanic, good bike and good drivers make a winning team. I try to know more about JOCHA bike and let you know later.
