Had a bit of a nip up last night, coming back from beverley trying to keep up with the RB and TS250 boys, I suspect a holed piston as the plug was proper white due to, I suspect, a bit of crap in the main jet, and the bloody thing wouldn't fire at all afterwards..... Will check on full extent of the damage later, but think its time to get myself some filters, so, Ram air ones look favourite, but what are the benefits of the largeoval shaped ones over the round ones? and what about all the other foam type filter manufacturers? I think BGM do one, and that make with the star on them? Whats folks opinion on the fuel filters? whats the best option here as the carb I run doesn't even have the little gauze thingy on the inlet! anybody any preferances?

little bit of ladies tights stretched over the mouth and held on with good solid elastic band? this is not coming from experience but I'm sure I have heard of others doing this. If it worked alright you could change it every ride and it would still only have cost a couple of quid.

Shane.. an air filter is not going to stop a blockage in your main jet. A fuel filter may. You seized the motor/holed piston or whatever. Thats got nothing to do with an air filter. Thats to do with bad setup. Were you running flat out at the time in top? If so then the seize/hole was to do with fuel starvation or too lean and maybe to much advance or crap fuel, too hi compression etc.
