Heaven forbid something should be f*kin straightforward... just read this on andys ets project, ( looks top draw now fella well done, ) and thought this quote somes up smallframes perfectly.... ;D ;D ;D Having said that Russ, I'm amazed how easy it was to get a tickover once I had the right pilot jet! I now have all lights working incl. indicators and horn. And it starts 1st or 2nd kick! The idiot lights don't work yet, though, and are the front pilot & rear light supposed to be on all the time? Also I still have the problem with the headset top not secured due to knackered inserts. Does anyone have a decent PKXL top? I doubt there are any new ones available anywhere... I assume there's meant to be some kind of additional mounting for the box where these broken bits are, otherwise it's two self-tappers into the horncast!

So, would you say it's about as good as Tony's racer, or slightly better? ;D

Thanks Maximus.
I don't think I'll be using the spoiler, btw. Just wondering when I'll next be down your way...

Looks good, very good ;D
And I don't suppose it lost anything in value in the last couple of years neither.
C'mon get the MOT done and tell us what it rides like ;D

been a while for u to do something with it,but nice work mate.nice and clean .disc set up awesome, love the exhaust. why did u go for a black headset ,would look better in red IMO and obviously a seat recover would top it all off,but its all about money i suppose.

I had it powder coated black as I wasn't sure what colour it would be eventually... I'm going to paint the HST red, and possibly the gearchange and throttle/master cyl mount as well.

Cheers, Gav! MoT'd!! ;D Thanks for everyone's help. It's quite slow, though... OK downhill but struggling up. I think it's lean on the main, and the ignition is too far retarded. I'm off to find out, now. Tickover still needs work, as well...

I made some ETS stripes from fake carbon vinyl sheet. You can tell me if they look gay, I won't be offended! On the plus side, I strobed the ignition yesterday and it was about 15deg BTDC. Set it to bang on 18deg and it's really improved the performance. It seems to have an edge to it, now. I've also removed the air filter and gone up to 100 (from the standard 90) on the main. I'll see how it feels tomorrow. F*ck, that exhaust is LOUD. I'm not sure if I should inflict it on my neighbours at 0530 every morning. There's only one thing for it; I have to win that Franz that Scootering are giving away. I've painted the HST red since I took these, and you can bet I'll post pics when I've fitted it! ;D

This is about the shiniest thing I've ever painted! Wish I'd filled those weld holes before I had the headset powder coated... I won't bore you again unless I have anything memorable to report!

I just did my first ride to work.
This thing goes great! It'll do an indicated 60 sat bolt upright; with a slight downhill it'll do 70 which is pretty good even if it's nearer to 60 real ms per h. It really revs if I thrash it in 3rd...
Handling is great as well; I haven't ridden PKs much apart from the odd 50 and a go on a mate's ETS back in 1986, but it's superb fun. It's on Vee Rubber and standard shocks as well, which shows it must be basically sound.
;D

Glad its all fine perkin personally out of all the smallframes to me the pk rides the best, you can throw it round corners and get quite low on decent tyres and a dry day ! I'm off to work on my new pk now Have fun and ride safe Tony

Cheers and cheers! It's a copy HZ I got off Ash (him no come here no more ) for 200 sovs. Maybe it's not too loud; it didn't wake up Mrs P this morning. Maybe I'm just getting old and socially responsible.
