Link didn't work for me but this is a common occurrence. It can be the kick start. It can also be that the crank is not properly seated. Your going to have to open it up and check.

Didn't work for me either, what do you mean by the kick-start is rubbing? What happens when you turn the flywheel by hand? As jb said its could be the crank but only if you have ball bearings both sides and the crank is not fully on the bearing, best way is put bearing onto crank on the fly side the put the crank into drive side, pull the crank thru using the primary nut and suitable washers, then heat the flyside case up drop the layshaft and tree bearings with the tree in, then draw the case in using the flywheel nut and a suitable tool, bit of pipe etc making sure the gears can turn then once the case is close you should be ok

It’s not the crank. The gear should not be attempting to engage with the lever up. You are going to have to split the cases and see what’s up. Did you replace any kickstart parts?

jb is right, definately not crank related but that sounds like you have no spring under the kicksart cog, or the spring on the kickstart, or both, ive done it once or twice and forgot the kickstart cog altogether so lambretta starts were order of the day i hate to split cases after a new build but yr gonna need to
