I was looking at the 1 & 2 Litre " Fuel Friend " things to have an emergency supply onboard. Rather than spend circa £20 I have plenty of old 2 stroke plastic bottles and a few vintage Castrol oil cans ( 1ltre ) I recall a few years ago draining the last few drops of petrol from tank when changing fuel tap into an old Persil plastic tub , it promptly melted on kitchen work top

the 2 stroke bottles will be fine ,there made to hold hydrocarbons so should resist fuel well enough .H

20l jerrycan welded on somewhere, like inbetween yr legs you could also cut it and weld an oil tank into it

thing is, is that petrol cans are much sturdier and you dont want the plastic or metal to swell too much incase it splits, ive had this loads of times with takeaway containers polyurethane is good for fuel as its prettymuch resistant to most petrochemicals and alchohols etc i suppose an 1l castrol r tin tank would be ok but id not leave it in the sun you seen those big tanks for v ranges, apart from the small door 90? look quits good
