After 40 years of Lambrettas and large frames I bought a PK. I stripped the engine and replaced the bearings and seals, fitted a procup 3, BGM banana sport and new cables all round. I rode it to work for the first time today and find I am up and down the gearbox a lot. I am going to keep the lived in look for now. It handles a lot better than my P2. I have just tried to upload a picture but it is to large.

When you kitted this did you leave the gears as standard. Most find that they either lower the primaries a touch of lower the 4th gear a bit. The faster kits tend to be less forgiving in traffic in top gear

Hi Steve, I put it back as standard. I am going to swap the 27t crank sprocket to a 26T in the first instance. I have just ordered a short fourth from vespa time and will be fitting that when it turns up. if the 26T sorts it then I will put the input shaft into the collection of bits for my Egig build. one bit of me wonders if changing the pipe for a BGM box or if I win the lottery this weekend an Egig banana road. it reminds me a bit of riding an RG500 where you had to keep the revs over 5000 to enable to you to pull away in traffic because the pipe was designed for high rpm.
