Rubber seal on Polini130 reed intake 19/19

Hi again all.

Ref my previous post regarding air-leak, I changed the filt ring on the intake...

It is still on my steel Polini130-equipped 90Racer engine and it is a 2 bolt reed intake.


When replacing the filt ring, I discovered a O-ring behind the filt ring.
-is that supposed to be there?

I bought the engine maaaany years ago and have refurbished the engine, but never changed the filt ring.


So could anyone enlight me on if the rubber O-ring is supposed to be between the filt ring and intakemanifold?

on some very late pk carbs theres no felt ring but a o-ring inside the carb itself , on the polini clamp on inlet ive only ever used a felt ring .H
