What are folks solutions for stopping the engine cover door latch opening while riding and the engine cover door going bye bye....?
Using the scoot more and more now, I have resulted to running it with the door off... but it pains me as it detracts for the smallframe appearance imho.
Looking for something subtle that doesn't involve drilling or aftermarket catches if at all possible...
TIA

I changed the standard latch for a key lock, cost about £10, the bar on the back is a bit longer and you can ‘tweak’ it in the vice so it’s nice and tight.

Do you mean on the flywheel side? Yeah - that's the one 👍 On the hinge pegs there was some plastic coating originally which was missing on mine. I used some wire sleeving which stopped the movement and lifted the door slightly which gave a better fit, gently bent the closer away slightly too and it closes much stiffer now.

The plastic sleeves are good, its just the top catch that works its way round when riding... its a very buzzy motor - clearly the carch wasnt designed with that in mind lol I even fitted new rubber buffers so the door is firm and tight when closed.

I'm using super strong magnets! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152718319863Araldited two of these to the door and two to the frame, now even with catch open it requires a very hard tug to get it open.

Sorted 👍 after Boreham mentioned the locker type lock I remembered I had one stashed in a tub of fittings somewhere I took of a wall mounted mailbox... after 40 minutes of searching I found it, enlarged the original hole slightly, thread locked the shit out of it, bent the latch arm for a snug fit and BINGO 😎 engine cover nice and secure, happy days 😁
