Just a note if everyone is not aware, you now get walloped with duties coming in from the EU, I ordered a lot of bits from SIP and just had a shock with an invoice from UPS for £150, that’s 25% of the invoice value so factor this in.
ive ordered quite a few parcels since Jan but this is the first time I have been charged, I called UPS and they are saying it is the VAT and costs as the parcel is over £135 in value, if it’s under then it’s included now by the seller.

Yep, over £135 (which is now Scooter Center's minimum order) the VAT will be calculated upon arrival. Now having said this: UPS/FedEx/TNT have their sh*t sorted and you will get billed. I've just paid £90 VAT+handling on a 400-euro cylinder kit bought directly from Pinasco. The bill came 6 weeks after the package was delivered. DHL/Parcel Force (if you order via DHL it will arrive to you via Parcelforce) seem to just be waving everything through. They say they'll hold packages until payment is made but I've now had over £1000 of parts in 3 different orders from Scooter Center with no VAT/bill paid. I'm now awaiting another £1000+ parts order from SIP but I intentionally chose DHL just in case I can be 4th time lucky. So my advice is to expect to pay VAT on arrival, make sure you have the cash to pay it, but choose DHL and cross your fingers!

After 3 orders totalling £2k+ without any VAT paid I got greedy and ordered a Crimaz front brake from SIP, shipping via DHL/Parcelforce...
Then got a letter saying it was waiting for me in the depot down the road in exchange for the VAT + fees.
Guess Parcel Force has finally got its act together!

I did indeed and now I have everything I need to get my smallie on the road and build an entire Rally 180 engine with 90% new parts. Should keep me going for a while...

parcel force never told me that they had been holding my parcel for the best part of 2 weeks. it was only when the seller contacted them that i had a clue it was even in the country I saw on the tracking that "customer will be sent a letter" so called them up and got the reference number I needed to pay online. Letter arrived over a week after I'd got the parts. You'd think they could text or something a bit quicker!
