well I'm having a go at printing a watch face
can anybody please recommend some CAD software that will print from a standard printer i don't want to spend a fortune on software that will only be used once or twice

i asked a mate who restores an repairs antique watches ,he's never done it but said he'd looked into it an theres a vid on youtube of a guy doing it .did think you could do it by water transfer maybe .you can buy the print on transfer paper cheap ,an just about any free software will run it on a normal printer .H

Most CAD software will print to a standard system printer, be that Mac, Windows or Linux. If you want to only use it for printing I'd suggest QCad or LibreCAD. You can also download a free 30 day trial of AutoCAD LT.

Thanks mate that's all very helpful, Last time I used cad was in my student days the whole setup came as a kit and I had no idea of what was going on print wise.
I did try stretching and editing somebody else's bmp files but found the print too blotchy and problematic I'll have a look at the free trial version
