When using a 10mm packer do I still need to weld/jb/braze the casings? Or could I get away doing most of it on the packer ?

the packer will give you 10mm of metal that you can port like mad without much being done to the case
it`s the easy option

Thanks! That sounds good! I used alloy brazing and added som metal to the clutch side. Also heating it up again bolted together sorted the small tension I got from the last brazing repair. Is there any template I can use as a reference doing the job on the casings? I understand I need to use the gasket from the cylinderkit for the packer but not decided yet on what cylinderkit. Just want to prepare the casings if its possible whithout any gasket...

cut the packer to size place it on the cylinder with a stud or two fitted mark the packer with a scribe to suit the cylinder then port some of the top side of the packer
now place the packer on the case and blend to the case
final blending is done with the cylinder fitted to one side of the case at a time using the cylinder studs to secure everything
easy.
making the packer bore the hole for the cylinder first place the packer on the cylinder and using an extra long drill drill the stud holes in the packer one at a time once the first hole is drilled bolt the packer to the cylinder while you drill the other 3 holes
easy

some nice stuff there they are a fast barrel but I have a hunch you will need to get the case trenched to allow for the con rod and slightly larger crank webs

Yes will fit but Im buying a standard 51/97 ETS full circle crank instead of longer stroke and rod... Also had clutch cover arm dismantled, cleaned and added new grease, o-ring was ok.
