Hello Gang :- as the title says, i’m having an engine put together for an ETS project with the above spec (plus polini Reed & the pipe will be either polini or ETS standard style replica) The 25 Dell is an unkown. I have stripped, ultrasonic cleaned, blown through & reassembled, but would just like a reasonable starting point on jetting, so I have a fighting chance of getting it running. Also pro-cup kit, what grade oil, what ratio & what running in mileage ? Thankyou in anticipation of your help...

i have a hunch anything like a standard pipe would really choke the engine

I always use 2% oil unless it specifically says you need more.
I have a barely used remade ETS system available but I'd bare in mind that NickJ on here felt a SIP Performance banana was holding back his M1 which the Procup is based on or blatantly ripping off depending on which angle you're viewing it from.

only 2% that seems very little id be tempted to go 4% with a really good oil

as its a quatt clone ,an i was told quatt say 4% ,i'm with TZ on the oil thing . an with juan on the exhaust ,a pm40 is the minimum to let the kit work ,ive set mine up with a zirri pipe .only run it in the stand so far an with a flatslide carb ,but on a 25mm round slide i'd start with a 50 pilot ,d22 needle ,aq266 atomiser an around a 110 main . Cheers Men !! Useful info, much appreciated.... Exhaust choices then ? It is a really nice restored scooter, so don’t want to be cutting the frame.... I have a polini, which I figured I would use it during running in period& then go window shopping after that. So we are debating between 2 & 4% mix ? What mileage for running in ?

I'd be happy enough to use 4% if that's what Quattrini recommend.
Running in, well it's alloy / nikasil so you're only needing to bed in the rings. 50 miles and / or a few decent heat cycles will be plenty as long as you're happy with the jetting.

Hey Juan....Can you PM me about your ETS pipe please ? Tried to message you, but “send message” wouldn’t recognise your username

Yep. My M1 ran much better with the Franz than the Sip. Perhaps if I’d spent more time jetting it I might have got there but probably needed a smaller carb too so I went back to the Franz. Do think the stock ETs pipe will do it either

I would try a down and forward type. But not sure what’s out there at the mo Had seen the simonini ones on eBay & SIP, but all confused with the variants, as some of them were applicable for reverse barrel set ups....but yes, I had considered one of those..

My carb is a 25 pwk power jet. and it’s on the second clip and a 110 main. Think I’ve got a 50 pilot jet in. But mine is ported and manifold matched sealing pad opened up and a Franz LTH make a nice pipe that wound suit that think it’s a V2.

i like the franz pipe pricey as they are, but i find that they seem to have a little weak spot just as they come on to the power

4% lol is it 1970 again, the people that make decent 2 stroke oil worked with all the gp teams when formulating the oil, these machines are running at a far higher bmep than you would ever get on 99% of road motors, point being is that you are robbing yourself needlessly of at least 2% of fuel which is what makes it run, im not saying run at 1% but 2 on a rotary is more than enough and maybe 3 if you are running a reed with boysen ports but 4 really ?
