To me its a no brainer - go for the replacement leaggies - will save so much time faffing around trying to cut shape and fettle the leggies and floor to suit when you can get the whole thing as a weld on part. Yeah that will definetely save a lot of time. But will it fit on my primavera 1968?

Dont have the knowledge or tools for this, but it looks nice Any ideas what it would cost letting a metal work shop replacing the leg shield?

About that much and a bit more - or as we often say - "how long is a bit of string". You need to find a body shop and ask - It really is only a days work about £250-300 at todays body shops rate.

Good morning Gentlemen, want to first thank everyone for the assistance with the "What frame to start with" Dilemma I have now got the 50s that I will be using for this replica build, I have also recieved the body kit from Scooter centre... so i think for now body wise I am pretty much on track I have a great metal worker that will do the leggie cut down and other of the metal work not to the next phase.
Motor as I have explained previously I would like to build a little sleeper but want to keep the original look of the SS90 so will use a banana exhaust and standard brakes so i assume would need to build round the exhaust as we don't want to build too big and have unused power because the exhaust can only handle x amount.
some questions to begin 1. Banana Exhausts, I have got a Sip Road already on my Primavera but also notice there is a white edition Pinasco which is the better of these 2 exhausts and if its the pinasco is it 100euro better?
2. I am no mechanic I read articles and get ideas and try the simpler things but for things like port timing and port matching and adding material to engine housing to enlarge port on engine I will be using a tuner for that stuff dont want to break things that are good. So I have seen that Worb5 have a 130 polini that has already been tuned etc on the SIP website would this be an advisable option for my build or should I rather do it all plug and play unit from scratch with a local tuner. (We do not have vespa specific tuners only 2t tuners here in South Africa)
3. I can only assume no mater which route I go with the engine I will have to upgrade the carb, clutch and crank and a vespatronic will also make a huge difference does that sound correct?
thanks in advance Habibi

To do a proper job you need a square badge big door frame 19666 to 1969 as that year frame is shorter for the tank and spare wheel to look right with out having a big gap Good morning Fellow Smallie people, So this job has now got some funds to continue, I have now ordered all extra bits (Rubbers nuts bolts etc... to complete) and have realized the engine door I have is not there so need to order one. as per GAV's comment much earlier in this thread I need a Square badge big door as this frame is shorter, I have checked my frame number to scooter help and it is a 1965 50s that I will be working with but the 10"x3.00 wheel I have fits like a glove in the space. and as for the door the one I have is most definatly smaller than a Primavera door by quite a lot. 1. were all of these 60s smallies doors smaller than Primavera or was the 1966-1969 like Gav is suggesting the same size 2. the fact that the wheel fits do I ignore the Door size? It does also have a square badge. so the length and badge are correct but door is not I could try find a scrapped Prima for a side panel or totally ignore the door and just build a good replica with what I got.

Sounds like you have a door off a small door modal 1963 to 1965

I'm only aware of the two engine-side doors: the early small door, and the later large. If you have a small door frame then you will have to modify it to make a 90ss rep. SIP and others had a cache of NOS panels not too long a go.

Revival of an old thread if you are all okay with it,
since these last messages I survived covid and staying in the house for months with out getting out on a scooter, and built a SS90 replica with the assistance and aid from 2 GREAT sources
I had a hotrod builder assist me with body work and I had a local Indy Mechanic assist with the motor rebuild... its a replica SO might as well go away from standard was my thoughts.
build went nice took very long on both body and motor BUT I am very very happy with the final product pictures to follow.
I am very happy with the way its running But the mechanic (Tony) is still unhappy with a few things sure he will come in here and ask questions in a few maybe someone can assist with his thoughts.
motor build as follows,
Racing Crankshaft Mazzucchlli Race PHBL25B Malossi reed valve kit DRT Sport Clutch 393.211 DRT Sport Gearbox 29/68 (2.34) SIP VAPE Sport Ignition VSP Road race exhaust Racing Polini Cylinder GS 130cc by Worb5
the bike feels very strong for the small cc. but cant really tell as I have not yet really ridden very hard.
